Printer Disabled (1 reply)

My Brother MFC-J625DW WiFi printer would not work in WiFi mode in my home network so for a long time I was using my USB cable. I had this problem for a while and I thought there was just a software glitch when it updated to Windows 10. Then while checking out and testing another Brother MFC-J425D printer (an earlier model), I was installing the Driver and it didn't work either. I don't know why but I decided to disable PeerBlock, when I did within a few seconds the Printer showed it was online and works over the WiFi.

I tried going through the list and disable each one and closed out the list manager and allowed it to reinitialize. But nothing changed the printer icon remained in the offline mode. I even checked off each list and then reinitialized the PeerBlock again and sill nothing. But as soon as I disabled PeerBlock again within a few seconds the printer Icon showed it was online via WiFi.

Does anyone know what I should do to keep the WiFi Printer online and keep PeerBlock enabled?

Need help please.

How do I add an Allow list Or teach an ol dog a new trick (no replies)

I am having difficulties with my computer connecting with my Brother wifi printer. I discovered it is PB that is the problem But I can't figure which list is blocking the IP. I was told I need to find the IP of the wifi connecting with my printer in the blocked list. But I am unable to find it.

I tried disabling the blocking lists in my PB one by one but the problem still persisted. I even went as far as disabling all the Lists where no lists were blocking anything and it still wouldn't work. It only will print when I disable PB altogether.

I use PB for my P2P, uploads and downloads and I leave it running when I am just browsing and surfing, it is a great addition to my virus protection and my firewalls.

So I thought If I make a custom allow list it might allow my computer to communicate with my printer.

I am not that savvy with programs and stuff. I can locate all my IP addresses of my equipment but they don't appear in the blocked list in my PB log.

How do I build an allow list or how can I trouble shoot the problem and get it solved. I feel I should not bother others through emails to get it solved, so I am turning to the forum to see how others have dealt with this problem and learn something at the same time.

So I haven't used peerblock in quite some time but i have regularly been updating files.

Here are my files for you to use that are still being updated, don't worry, i know the website is gone but the files are still online!

These IPs are Government, military and other secret IPs you shouldn't know about - you should block them

These IPs are anti-piracy companies - you should block them

Time to upgrade peerblock? (no replies)

I sure would like to see peerblock upgraded a bit. The 1 thing I'd really like to have is the ability to block specific ip's using the 80 & 443 ports or any other ports even when the block ports is off. As it is right now they are only blocked when the block http is on. Other than that, been using it for years & it's doing a pretty good job & if such an upgrade does show up, I have no problem shelling out some $$$ for it. It appears this project has been abandoned tho but hoping not..... Bob

stopped protecting or scanning and says this in the line

Stopped displaying allowed packets, for performance reasons. re-enable by selecting 'show allowed connections' option to override.

But everything is stopped not scanning and blocking at all.

I followed the instruction in the line but still not blocking anything.

Any idea why peer block in no longer working in windows 10 Pro?

I know it has been a while for some of us. But I had to put one of my computers back to win 8.1 to utilize all the features of my HP Pavilion.

Anyway, I forgot how to set it up so it starts at start up in Windows 8.1, does anyone remember? I tried looking through the older hreads but coundn't find any threads.

Thanks

Finding valid blocklists for Peerblock (no replies)

Anyone interested in obtaining blocklists which will work in PeerBlock and which are regularly updated, in substitution for the i-Blocklist bluetack lists (which are no longer free and are no longer updated), can consult a large selection of - mostly free - lists at:

   https://zeltser.com/malicious-ip-blocklists/

I was particularly interested in one of these, which puts together a list by combining several from different sources -

Peerblock is blocking ips in a whitelist? (no replies)

I have a whitelist with the following entry:
Blizzard Entertainment:137.221.106.0-137.221.106.255

It is blocking this ip and others like it:
137.221.106.22

What can be done? I don't want to just disable peerblock for this game.

I'm using Peerblock 1.2, with Windows 7.
